Bangladesh Gender Liberation Project (BGLP) is an international trans-led mutual aid and skills share collective. The workshop will focus on lessons and reflections on how Bangladeshi, South Asian, and more broadly BIPOC trans communities are building alternate models of care, skills-building, and resource-sharing as a result of increasing state clampdown on trans rights and livability. The workshop will be facilitated by two Bangladeshi transmasculine persons, Mikail Khan and Robbie Ahmed. Through a localized perspective on how trans people are surviving through mutual aid frameworks in Bangladesh after the fall of an authoritarian regime in 2024 (which led to the formation of BGLP), the workshop will zoom out to examine how migrant and BIPOC trans communities are organizing themselves and leading the calls for accountability and systems change within organizing spaces in Canada and other empires.
