Authors from the PM Press book Surviving the Future: Abolitionist Queer Strategies, zuri arman, Shuli Branson, Mimi Thi Nguyen, and E Ornelas, will host an interactive discussion that considers what future might even mean now. An endless present. A promise made to white people on the condition of the genocide of Indigenous people in the Americas and Africa and the world over. The slow death of all life in the name of civilization. In the interstices, where we survive, we depend on networks of support that must continually reform while systematically being crushed by settler colonialism, the state, and capital. We will turn to parallel worlds of spirit and beauty, wisdom and illogic, negation and creation, infused with a desire for beauty against the law, a criminality that dispenses with justice as it has been conceived in white democratic thinking. Drawing from our experience in Indigenous, Black, Asian-American, refugee, antizionist, and anarchist communities, we will confront here and now what has continued, what has been foreclosed, and what escapes the grasp of the state
