This workshop is about community digital privacy and information security practices, with discussion covering both technical and operational/social security concerns. This workshop is open to anyone, regardless of skill, but will have a particular focus on practices most applicable in grassroots organizing, record-keeping, and community archives settings.

No preexisting skills or technologies are required, but there will be the opportunity to do some hands-on activities and participants are encouraged to bring their device(s) with them. Materials will be available for participants to take notes, make or customize a zine, or otherwise creatively engage with the topics we discuss, which will include:

· Personal communication infosec (emails, phones, social media)
· Privacy considerations for documenting protests / actions
· Securing and encrypting personal devices and files
· Best practices for file naming, data backup, and metadata
