5:45 – 6:15 PM — Learning for Interdependence
This workshop/skill share is inspired by a study group through New York Collective of Radical Educators in Spring of 2025 in which a group of educators from both traditional and non-traditional settings studied how domination and hierarchy in schools often connects to the domination, hierarchies, and destruction outside of the classroom. We looked at local and international examples that explore non-hierarchal education – through theories around Social Ecology, Anarchist pedagogy, democratic and ecological education and more. In this workshop, we’ll share the zine and invite others to share their own theories, questions, and practices as educators who resist hierarchy in their various learning environments. 6:15 – 6:45 PM — Resisting Unwanted Social Influence
Drawing from Michael D. Langone’s “Recovery from Cults,” extensive, citable “research”, Almost Rapist: A True Crime Memoir (Enthusiast Press, 2025) and personal experience as the target of a real or imagined multi-interest black-ops, recent author Joyce Miller explores principles of subverting amateur or professional high control psychological warfare, providing the audience with a starter pack of references and questions to intentionally expand their versatility in resisting all manner of unwanted social influences.
