This workshop is an info share on how to support someone having a mental health crisis and experiencing suicidality without relying on carceral systems. It includes how to navigate the mental health industrial complex, advocate for comrades and loved ones, and how to enact crisis support ourselves without involving the state. Max has been doing community mental health support, crisis care, and suicidality care team work for two decades. Their work centers madness and is born of their own experiences with SI and psychiatric incarceration, peer support models, and mutual aid. They are an unlicensed therapist and share insider tips to help people who choose to engage with the MHIC do so on their terms. This is not a support space for sharing traumatic stories or processing grief, but is a skill sharing workshop on what to do if someone you know is considering suicide
