Adriana Varella is back with her project "Exorcising the Church" 2007/2008, which could not be shown last year due to technical issues. This time the project will be on display during the three days fair.
On the double front doors of Judson Memorial Church, it will be installed more than 800 pages of the Bible with historical images of the inquisition on them. This work will be installed at the entrance of the church for the occasion of the second NYC Anarchist book fair in April of 2008.

Excess by Angela Freiberg, video and silent PERFORMANCE.The video Excess is a critique about the excessive consumption pertaining to the American Society, because they use most of world's resources. This over consumption is a form of violence. Angela uses her body performance to express this ideology.

Marcia X work to be presented for the first time in NYC addresses the patriarchal power (physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual) inside religion. This work was censored in Brazil causing the cancellation of a major exhibition of the artist in a cultural center in Rio.

BRAZILIAN SISTERS (silent performance): SIGNAL-TO-NOISE CEREMONY
A collection of traditional ad-vices, pre evolutionary concepts, suggestions
and exercises to stimulate the innovative way of thinking human species
need to become or remain humans. A guide and path not to be followed.

Clarisse Tarran work shows a sarcastic humorous approach to the power relations and hierarchy inside the Catholic Church.

Claudia Hersz work criticizes the schizophrenic relations between people and religion, in which people uses religion as a mean to avoid critical thinking.

Nilton Maltz uses painted LEDs (light devices) over canvas to represent a poetic view of the concept of tolerance, much said but rarely practiced among religious movements.

Bobbi Williams presents a silent performance "The Fae"; an ironic dance against power be it manifest or otherwise. In collaboration with cspot designs.

Alex Villar *Upward Mobility*, 8 minutes, silent video, 2002.
In contrast to the invisible horizontal line drawn by everyday movements
in the city, this video shows a person in search of vertical deviations
from this norm. Several situations depict attempts to move up in spaces
like a bus stop, a telephone booth, a building marquee, cracks on a wall
that lead to a window, among others. The character of the actions varies
from that of a playful childish game to a teenage prank to a burglar break-in
to a protester stunt; that is, activities that have in common the pursuit
of unusual routes of action.

Apparition 15" (installation) by Chris Herbeck.

Carlos Motta (video doc.) at the film festival.
.Carlos Motta's videos deal with issues nationalism and decolonization.
His Memory of a Protest, 2007, is a documentary shot during a public protest
by a Chilean human rights' organization, Kamarikun, against the School of
the Americas in Santiago, Chile, in late 2006. The institution has been
an important asset for US foreign policy in Latin America throughout and
after the Cold War. It was established in 1946 in Fort Gulig, in the Panama
Canal region and relocated to Fort Bening, GA, in 1984. The school changed
its name to Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation in 2001,
but its methods and ideologies remain the same. Opponents of the school
claim that it has trained more than 61,000 Latin American soldiers to perpetuate
torture and violence and to continue fomenting a disregard for human rights.
